Meeting Information: As needed, no regular meeting schedule.
MISSION:
The greatest intention of Congregational Care is for all members and visitors to feel they are loved as part of our Epworth Family.
About The Congregational Care Ministry
Our goal is for every Epworth member to feel celebrated when good things happen, supported during difficult times, and will still feel part of our Epworth family when homebound.
There are many ways Congregational Care is at work at Epworth. We provide Lobby treats every Sunday to encourage taking time for fellowship between services and Bible Studies. We send cards and make phone calls so those who are having difficult times know they are being prayed for. We aspire to regularly contact those who are homebound so they know they are loved and missed even though they cannot join us in person. We arrange meals and rides for those who are healing from surgeries or illnesses.
Ministry Activities
Our Homebound Care volunteers are assigned 2-3 homebound members to reach out to monthly. This can be done through greeting cards, phone calls or visits. Our Lobby Treats volunteers can sign up to bring baked goods whatever Sunday they are available. If you are interested in making and delivering meals to those that are healing, you can be part of a sign up.
Ministry Events
We have 3 special events where the entire congregation gets involved in reaching out to our homebound members. The first is Caring Sunday, the second is a special summer gift delivery, and the third is a special Christmas cookie boxed gift hand-delivered.
